Research Center for High Technology Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan will start producing infrared LEDs for the sphere of information and communication technologies, the center told Trend on Saturday.
Infrared LEDs will be used to form signals, transmitted by the optical cable, as they are the best sources for fiber-optic lines.
The start of infrared LEDs production is scheduled to the end of the second quarter.
The production of optical lines will be implemented on the basis of Sumgait Technology Park (STP), construction and assembly company AZENCO told. STP plans to approve the manufacturing of telecommunication cables by the end of 2012.
Sumgait industrial park has already received orders from the major players on the telecommunication market of Azerbaijan.
