Azerbaijan, Baku, 24 July / corr Trend T.Jafarov / Bashar Asad, the President of Syria, will visit Iran in the run up to French Present Nicola Sarkozy's tour of the country, the Lebanese newspaper As-safir reported.
During the meeting Asad, who has recently visited France, will inform the Iranian officials about the results of discussions held with Sarkozy in Paris with respect to Syrian mediation in the nuclear issue.
Earlier, Syrian foreign minister Valid Muallim stated his intention to visit Tehran to mull over the program on uranium enrichment by Iran.
