Azerbaijan, Baku, 25 July / Trend corr. K.Zarbaliyeva/ Azerbaijan's Interior Ministry is holding a collective meeting on results of the first half of 2008.
Ministry reported to Trend on 25 July that Minister Ramil Usubov, speaking at the meeting, informed the participants of the arrangements carried out against crime in the country and of the state of criminality.
Usubov said Azerbaijan takes the last place among CIS countries in the crime rate.
Minister said the number of such crimes as calculated homicide, deliberate serious damage to one's health, rape and hijacking has dramatically dropped as compared to previous years, and such crimes as kidnapping were not registered at all.
The collective meeting is underway.
Ministry reported that further information about results of the meeting will be available later.
