France, Paris, 11 November / Trend corr. A. Magerramli/ The 100th anniversary of the birth of an outstanding representative of Azerbaijani literature of twentieth century, scholar and teacher Mir Jalal Pashayev, was marked at the UNESCO headquarters on November 10.
The ceremony was opened by Director General of UNESCO Koichiro Matsuura. He
noted that the celebration of the anniversary of
outstanding scientist and writer of the Azerbaijani people Mir Jalal Pashayev by UNESCO is clear evidence of
cooperation between UNESCO and Azerbaijan, which covers various areas.

Aliyev Foundation, Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO and
ISESCO, First Lady, Mehriban Aliyeva said
in her speech, that Azerbaijani
people, which have rich heritage, grew
generation of outstanding scientists. Mir Jalal
Pashayev is also one of the great sons of Azerbaijan. His literary and scientific
heritage is very rich.
Then the film, telling about the life and works of Mir
Jalal, was shown.
Jubilee ceremony ended with a musical program with the participation of the Azerbaijani masters of arts.
