took a direct part in the conclusion of a 24-hour truce between the Palestinian
Hamas movement and Israel, because military actions can spill over to Egyptian
territory.
Official Cairo is concerned about the situation around the Gaza Strip since the
fighting can spill over to Egyptian territory.
"Cairo does not want an escalation of violence in the Gaza Strip, because this will
after all spill over to the territory of Egypt," Egyptian ambassador in Israel,
Yaser Rida, said to Trend .
A 24-hour truce between Hamas and Israel was struck after Israeli Air Force
attacked a Hamas bases in the Gaza Strip.
Israeli army is ready to launch a large-scale operation in Gaza, a source at
the Israeli Ministry of Defence told Trend .
According to the source, Hamas seeks to increase the range of rocket attacks on
the Israeli territory.
"We understand that our military operation in Gaza will increase rocket attacks
on Israel. But we know how to retaliate," the source said
