Five-ton cake cut in Ganja on occasion of President Ilham Aliyev’s birthday: PHOTO SESSION

Azerbaijan, Ganja, Dec. 24/ Trend , V. Mammadov/ A cake without precedent in the Caucasus was cut in the Central Square of Ganja city of Azerbaijan (365 km west of Baku) today.

"The cake is the birthday present of the businessmen and city residents for President. Last year we prepared a big cake on occasion of President Ilham Aliyev's birthday. The cake we have prepared this year weighs two times as much as the previous one. It is a testament to love of Ganja residents for President," Eldar Azizov, chief of the Administrative Body of Ganja city, said to reporters.

The Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev marks his 47th birthday on Dec. 24. A cake without precedent in the Caucasus was cut in Ganja last year on occasion of President's birthday.

The cake has been baked by Muzaffar Aguoglu, owner of Nurgul LTD and Turkish businessman, at the initiative of the Administrative Body of Ganja city. The length of cake makes up 30m, height - 0.25m and weight - 5 tons. The cake cost almost AZN 20,000. The flag, map, coat of arms and coat of arm of Ganja as well and the figure 2502 were depicted at the center of the cake. About 1.5 tons of flour and sugar, 20,000 eggs, 150kg of OIL, 140kg nuts and 75kg of starch were used to bake 2-ton cake.
