Fundamentals of independence of Azerbaijan were established in Ganja, said the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, making a speech before the public of the city, AzTV state television reported.
"The active role of Ganja and Ganja people is well known to all Azeri people. At all times Ganja people played an important role in the development of Azerbaijan as an independent country," said the Head of State.
Azerbaijan celebrates 28 May as an Independence Day.
Aliyev appreciated the work carried out in Ganja. He also said that Azerbaijan will continue to pay special attention to Ganja and necessary work will be carried out on the development of the city.
