Azerbaijan, Baku, October 1 / Trend H. Hasanov /

Turkmenistan considers possibilities to hold further bilateral talks on the Caspian oil fields with Azerbaijan, Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow said at a meeting with representatives of the Turkmen media outlets.

The Turkmen President stressed that there are several "good options" to find a compromise. He said that the dialogue at the diplomatic level has not been exhausted yet and can be continued. According to official Turkmen source, Berdimuhamedow stressed that Azerbaijan is neighborly country. We were, are and will be brothers. He said that while preserving differences on offshore fields, Turkmenistan, as planned, has a reason to apply to the international arbitration.

Turkmen corresponding agencies were charged by Turkmen President to prepare an appeal to the court in summer 2009. The Turkmen side promised to admit the court's decision.

Azerbaijani officials recognize the last fields as Azerbaijani ones. Readiness for joint exploitation was expressed concerning bordering Kapaz having hydrocarbon deposits.

Turkmen leadership calls Kapaz field (Serdar in Turkmen interpretation), as well as Azeri and Chirag (Osman and Omar) as disputable topic.

Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan resumed dialogue and expressed interest in bilateral cooperation after Berdimuhamedow became Turkmen president in 2007. During his period of office visits are exchanged at the highest level. The Turkmen embassy in Baku resumed its work. Mutual debt was settled. Currently, two Turkic states are considered by the European Union as raw sources for future gas pipeline "Nabucco" to Europe via Turkey. It will allow countries to diversify the markets of energy resources.
