Georgian Parliamentary Speaker David Bakradze is on an official visit to Vilnius where he attended a meeting with the Parliamentary Assembly of the Baltic States.
During his visit, Bakradze met with the Lithuanian, Estonian and Latvian parliamentary speakers, as well as the Lithuanian president.
Bakradze also met with Lithuanian Foreign Minister Vygaudas Usackas and discussed bilateral relations.
Usackas noted that Lithuania will continue to actively support Georgia's integration into the EU and NATO. He congratulated Georgia on successful negotiations with the EU to simplify the visa regime. The minister also stressed the importance of the NATO-Georgia Commission's meeting, which will be held in Brussels in the near future, and noted that each country has its own way of joining the alliance.
"At the NATO Bucharest summit, Georgia received a firm promise that Georgia and Ukraine will become members of the alliance," he added. .
