Former President of Poland, winner of the Nobel Peace Prize Lech Walesa believes that the European Union as an organization must continuously improve.

However, EU is not ready yet to accept them all, and therefore a new scheme of cooperation such as the initiative of Eastern partnership was proposed", - said Walesa in Gdansk to journalists from Eastern Partnership Program member countries on Tuesday.
"Certainly I welcome this initiative and stand for providing any support to these six countries of Eastern Partnership", - said Walesa.
The "Eastern Partnership" program accepted by European Union in May 2009 envisages increased cooperation between the EU eastern neighbours.
The program, allocated for the implementation of 600 million euros, includes Ukraine, Belarus, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Armenia and Moldova.
"Eastern Partnership" initiated by Poland and supported from Sweden, according to the original idea of the authors, was to bring the member states to integrate with the EU.
Former Polish president stressed the importance of improving the activities of the EU.
"In the EU, each country is now trying "to take blanket to him" and it is not correct", - said Walesa.
According to him, today the EU has two objectives - the elimination of borders and the implementation of equal treatment to each country that wants cooperate closely with European Union.
"More than 20 years ago, we created an ideology of solidarity, and this ideology is now more relevant than ever", - said Walesa.
