The Georgian People's Assembly has started rallying in front of parliament.
The protests are led by Gogi Kavtaradze, who called upon Georgia's First Channel to broadcast the rally live.
Roughly 6,000 people have gathered in front of parliament. The assembly promised that 12,500 delegates in total would join the rally.
Rally co-organizer and opposition Democratic Movement - United Georgia leader Nino Burjanadze told journalists that they expect even more supporters.
According to Burjanadze, a verdict of no confidence will be adopted in President Mikheil Saakashvili.
"The people will determine their attitude toward the president, express their accusations and complaints, and today decide on how we will conduct our politics," she said.
According to preliminary data, the assembly will develop an executive committee today to delegate authority to different members of the movement.
