The Uzbek and Cambodian Foreign Ministry held the first round of the political consultations, the Uzbek ministry reported.
The two sides exchanged views on prospects for expanding the Uzbekistan-Cambodia cooperation in political, trade-economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, as well as on regional and international issues of mutual interest.
The talks stressed the need to strengthen the legal framework as a reliable guarantor of enhancing the cooperation.
The sides assessed the developments in Central and South-East Asia and discussed the cooperation within international organizations, including the UN, as well as the opportunity of the ASEAN-Uzbekistan partnership.
Uzbekistan will mull Phnom Penh's request to support its candidacy as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for 2013-2014.
Following the meeting, the sides agreed to continue the practice of political consultation.
