Head of Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly Jeanne Claude Minion has made a statement censuring the Syrian rocket firing on Turkish territory on Thursday.
"I condemn the rocket firing from Syria that caused the deaths of civilians living on the Turkish border with Syria. This fire is one of the worst incidents in recent history and an unacceptable violation of Turkey's sovereignty. I call upon all parties to stop violations and act in accordance with rules and principles of international law. The spread of instability creates a risk of serious consequences for the whole region," Minion said.
PACE chairman expressed condolences to the families of people killed during the incident.
Reportedly, a document on Syrian events was approved on the fourth day of the PACE autumn session. Discussions on "Europe's answer to humanitarian crisis in Syria" report, prepared by Italian deputy Giacomo Santini, were held. The report stressed the dangerous level of the humanitarian crisis in Syria.
