Creation of the New Azerbaijan Party has played a special role in the future prevention of unpleasant processes in Azerbaijan, said President Ilham Aliyev.
President Aliyev made the remarks at a solemn ceremony marking the 25th anniversary of creation of the New Azerbaijan Party (NAP) at the Heydar Aliyev Center Nov. 14.
“Dear members of the New Azerbaijan Party. Dear friends, I sincerely congratulate you and all members of the New Azerbaijan Party on the upcoming 25th anniversary of our party and wish all the members of our party good health and new successes,” said the president.
“Twenty-five years ago, the founding conference of the New Azerbaijan Party was held in Nakhchivan under the chairmanship of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev. That was a great, historic event,” President Aliyev said. “About a month prior to that, a group of patriots – the famous 91 – sent an appeal to Heydar Aliyev. Giving a positive response to the appeal, the National Leader expressed his readiness to lead the new party and decided to hold the party’s founding conference.”
Ilham Aliyev said this was truly a historic event, a turning point in the history of modern Azerbaijani statehood.
“At that time, 91 patriots undertook this historic mission and sent an appeal to Heydar Aliyev. Their work holds a worthy place in the history of Azerbaijan and the creation of our party has played a special role in the future prevention of unpleasant processes in our country.”
