End of Second Karabakh war creates new opportunities for region - Georgian PM

The end of the second Karabakh war has created new opportunities for the region, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said, Trend reports citing Georgia’s First Channel.

Garibashvili made the statement during the press briefing with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, who is on an official visit to Georgia.

Garibashvili noted that Karabakh war has been a challenge for the region and that the end of the hostilities have created new opportunities for the region.

Following over a month of military action to liberate its territories from Armenian occupation from late Sept. to early Nov. 2020, Azerbaijan has pushed Armenia to sign the surrender document. A joint statement on the matter was made by the Azerbaijani president, Armenia's PM, and the president of Russia.

A complete ceasefire and a cessation of all hostilities in the zone of the Karabakh conflict were introduced on Nov. 10, 2020.
