BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 18. The meeting of foreign ministers within the framework of the "3+3" platform was held in Türkiye, Trend reports.

According to the information, the meeting is being held in Istanbul.

Foreign Ministers of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Iran, and Russia are taking part in the meeting.

Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov made a speech at the meeting.

During the session, the Azerbaijani FM presented the country's perspective on addressing existing challenges in security, economy, trade, energy, transport, communication, environmental protection, and natural and man-made disasters through regional cooperation.

Bayramov expressed gratitude to the brotherly Republic of Türkiye for hosting the "3+3" meeting, emphasizing the importance of consultations within the framework of regional cooperation to tackle current challenges.

He noted that regional dialogue is increasingly relevant given the growing dangerous agenda of external forces in the region, which includes militarization and geopolitical escalation.

The importance of adhering to principles of international law, particularly sovereignty, territorial integrity, and non-interference in internal affairs, was underscored.

Bayramov highlighted Azerbaijan's commitment to mutual respect and balanced interests in its collaboration with regional states since regaining independence. This cooperation has led to the realization of several significant regional and global projects, including the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway and the North-South corridor. He expressed hope that future projects will include the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, particularly communications linking the Eastern Zangezur economic region with Nakhchivan through Iran.

In light of the recent conflict's outcomes, Bayramov reaffirmed Azerbaijan's determination to pursue sustainable peacebuilding with Armenia, stressing the need to remove obstacles to the peace process, including necessary constitutional amendments to prevent future aggression.

He criticized Armenia's promotion of a "half-hearted peace," which he claimed neglects existing issues and delays sustainable peacebuilding, raising concerns about a potential "hidden agenda."

To note, the meeting of foreign ministers was held in Iran’s Tehran within the framework of the regional "3+3" platform on October 23 last year.

Ministers of foreign affairs of Azerbaijan, Russia, Türkiye and Armenia also took part in the meeting.
