KHANKENDI, Azerbaijan, July 20. The number of people returning to the liberated territories is increasing, and it will grow even faster from now on. In the first four years, we primarily focused on infrastructure projects, most of which have now been completed. The entire Karabakh and East Zangezur regions are already connected through a circular power grid and integrated into Azerbaijan’s national energy system, said President Ilham Aliyev during a meeting with participants of the 3rd Shusha Global Media Forum, Trend reports.
The head of state noted that with the majority of infrastructure projects completed, more resources will now be allocated to residential housing. He added that just yesterday, residents returned to two villages in the Khojaly district, bringing the number of resettled communities to 18.
Recalling that the “Great Return” program is already underway, President Aliyev said it will proceed in phases, with the number of returning citizens increasing month by month and year by year. “Karabakh and East Zangezur will be revived. At the beginning of the Great Return, I said we would turn this region into paradise. It is already a small piece of paradise – we see it with our own eyes,” the President emphasized.
