Azerbaijan, Baku / Тrend corr S. Ilhamgizi / Ali Aliyev, the Co-chairman of the block Azadlig, reported that the block considers joint rallies with the Musavat party to be pointless.
The head of the opposition Musavat party had proposed joint rallies of the opposition as well as forming a committee for this purpose. Commenting on the proposal, Aliyev noted that it is a kind of provocation.
"Musavat is not interested in fighting the current power. The fight should be carried out not by means of rallies but through elections. Musavat has refused to co-operate with the Central Elections Commission and remained loyal to its own interests," Aliyev noted.
Aliyev added that joint action with Musavat is impossible due to the lack of common viewpoints on principal issues.
Azadlig unites 3 oppositional parties, which are the Popular Front of Azerbaijan Party, the Liberal party and the Party of Citizenship and Development. Musavat is represented in the parliament by 5 MPs.
