Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend S.Ilhamgizi / Leyla Yunus, the head of the Peace and Democracy Institute, stated on 3 July that the Azerbaijani Modern Musavat Party plans to hold an act of protest in front of the office of the institute.
The Executive Administration of Baku negatively responded to the party's appeal to hold an act of protest on 5 July at 3pm in front of the institute's office.
Leyla Yunus appealed to the Nasimi Police Station to provide security for the institute's members during the unsanctioned rally.
Yunus considers that dissatisfaction of the Modern Musavat Party is due to an appeal, addressed by her to the European Union, in which she requested the European Union use sanctions against Azerbaijan because of pressure against journalists.
