"About 20 per cent of our land is still under occupation; there has been ethnic cleansing against the Azeri people. About one million of our population are now displaced and this a big problem for us and for the entire region," the Azerbaijani President alarmed.

As for Iran, it is a neighboring state and we have good relations based on mutual respect and noninterference in each other's affairs." We have no problems with Iran. On the contrary, Iran is a partner to us and we have great economic cooperation with this country, he said. He noted that Iran's nuclear crisis with the west should be settled peacefully.
