Kazakhstan, Almata, 24 July/ Trend , corr R. Mashadihasanli/ The Association of Azerbaijanis public organization in Kazakhstan held a reporting back meeting on 23 July. Abulfaz Hammadov, the chairman of the Association spoke of the activities of the organization in the first-half year and tasks before organization and events planned to be held in 2008.
The meeting especially focused on the debates on the upcoming presidential elections in Azerbaijan to be held in October 2008. According to Hammadov, the current President of Azerbaijan has played a great role in strengthening and developing the Azerbaijani-Kazakh relations.
According to Hammadov, an initiative group will be established soon which will conduct canvassing among Azerbaijanis for the nomination of Ilham Aliyev, head of state of Azerbaijan.
Concerning the upcoming events, president of international TURKEL fund Hokuma Khalilova said that the event Tears of Exiled dedicated to the memory of poet Mahhammad Pasha organized together with the Association of Azerbaijanis will be held in August.
