Azerbaijan, Baku, Nov. 26 / Trend M.Aliyev /

The Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) may establish a commission to study Armenia's environmental terrorism in the occupied Azerbaijani territories.

The issue will be tabled at BSEC Standing Committee meetings in Belgrade, MP Asif Hajiyev said in an interview to the official Web site of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party today.

According to the official, the BSEC Parliamentary Assembly also will discuss the issue.

Hajiyev said the BSEC thirty-fourth plenary meeting in Moscow also discussed environmental terrorism in the occupied territories. At the meeting, the Azerbaijani delegation reported fires in the occupied territories and rivers pollution.

Azerbaijan suffered environmental damages in these territories estimated at $200,000, he said.

The MP noted that Armenian MPs initially agreed with the idea of establishing a commission, but later resisted its implementation.

The BSEC was established in 1992. The organization includes Azerbaijan, Albania, Armenia, Bulgaria, Greece, Georgia, Moldova, Russia, Romania, Serbia, Turkey and Ukraine.
