Azerbaijan has satisfied the appeal of a soldier convicted of violating army procedures.
The Ganja Appeals Court today announced its decision on Ali Tagizade's appeal.
According to the court, his appeal has been satisfied and the Ganja Military Court's verdict was annulled. Tagizade was sentenced to one year in prison.
Earlier, the soldier was sentenced by the Ganja Military Court to four years in prison according to Article 330.2.3 (Committing Violent Act Against Chief) of the Azerbaijani Criminal Code.
According to the charges, Taghizade beat his fellow servicemen Junior Sergeant Saleh Salmanov in the canteen Nov. 5, 2009.
