The Azerbaijanis National Academy of Sciences has published a final number of students submitting the documents to the magistracy of scientific organizations and institutes.
Some 345 people have submitted the documents for 288 vacant seats in Ph.D program, 170 of them for full time education, 184- for correspondence education, National Academy of Sciences presidium scientific secretary Sarkhan Abbasoglu told Trend on Wednesday. Five applicants are foreigners: citizens of Turkey, Libya and Kyrgyzstan, 2 Iranian citizens.
The entrance exams for Ph.D. program, which consist from subject examination, foreign language and philosophy, will start on October 15.
Some 110 seats have been allocated for doctor of science program.
The applications for doctor's degree were received in 2011 for the first time.
According to the decision of Cabinet of Ministers as of July 1 2010, Azerbaijani citizens with higher education (who have obtained master's degree or education, equal to master's degree, in medical education- a doctor or a doctor-specialist) can be admitted for studying to get doctor's degree on Ph.D program by a contest.
Azerbaijani citizens with Ph.D. degree, who have scientific and pedagogic achievements in this field, capable to conduct high level fundamental research can be admitted for studying to get doctor's degree upon the program.
