BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 22. The Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) has published weekly information on humanitarian demining operations carried out in the territories liberated from Armenian occupation, Trend reports.
According to the source, 67 anti-tank, 37 anti-personnel mines, and 181 unexploded ordnances were found and defused from July 15 through July 21, 2024.
The source emphasized that a total of 1,673 hectares of land have been demined.
The demining operations were carried out by employees of ANAMA, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and the State Border Service of Azerbaijan.
Following the liberation of its lands, Azerbaijan began operations in November 2020 to clean its lands of mines, booby traps, and other weaponry left behind by illegal Armenian forces.
