Javadova / The trial of the former Azerbaijani Economic Development Minister, Farhad Aliyev, his brother Rafig Aliyev, former President of the Azpetrol group of companies, and 17 defendants continued on 10 August at the Court on Heinous Crimes presided by Judge Tofik Pashayev.
The judge expressed his thoughts of the petition made on 9 August by Farhad Aliyev's lawyer Isakhan Ashurov, saying that it was not necessary to present the list of witnesses to the lawyer because the judge would be doing so. In addition, the petition to organize a lawyer's meeting with Aliyev twice a week and present the copies of the necessary material for the criminal case to lawyer was rejected. The request for Dukon Daymont, a foreign doctor, to examine Aliyev was not permitted by the judge.
