TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, August 14. President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has directed the development of a national strategy for implementing artificial intelligence across the country, Trend reports.
He made this announcement during a presentation on advancing artificial intelligence technologies and fostering IT startups.
President Mirziyoyev also called for the creation of a two-year project plan and the establishment of an Artificial Intelligence Technology Center.
He highlighted the importance of expanding the use of artificial intelligence in the banking and financial sectors, as well as the need for training specialized personnel and upskilling existing employees.
Meanwhile, artificial intelligence and digital technologies are increasingly being integrated across various sectors in Uzbekistan. The country has already launched several initiatives in this area.
For example, the "My ID" and "UzFace" solutions are now utilized by over 70 organizations, banks, marketplaces, and payment systems, enabling remote biometric identification for 10 million users. Additionally, artificial intelligence has helped "Uzbekcosmos" identify approximately 43,000 cases of illegal land use and unauthorized construction.
