ASTANA, Kazakhstan, August 24. Following the Kazakhstan-Tajikistan Investment Forum in Dushanbe, several commercial agreements and contracts worth around $900 million were signed, Trend reports.

The forum, held on August 21, just before President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev's state visit to Tajikistan, was attended by a Kazakh delegation led by First Deputy Prime Minister Roman Sklyar. The Tajik delegation was headed by First Deputy Prime Minister Khokim Khulikzoda.

In his opening remarks, Roman Sklyar highlighted the significant opportunities for joint projects between Kazakhstan and Tajikistan in various sectors. He emphasized that this forum underscores both countries' commitment to enhancing bilateral trade, economic, and investment cooperation.

The importance of ongoing collaboration between metallurgical companies and expanding joint agro-projects in the production, processing, and storage of agricultural and fruit-vegetable products, with the goal of exporting to third countries, was also noted.

As previously reported, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan aim to boost their trade turnover to $2 billion in the near future.

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev will visit Tajikistan on August 22-23. During the visit, he and the Tajik President will hold talks and sign a number of agreements.
