Equipment and raw materials dominate imports to Iran's Lorestan Province

BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 7. During the initial half of the current Iranian year (from March 20 to September 21, 2024), Lorestan Province in western Iran experienced a significant influx of equipment, raw materials, generators, catalysts, and other related items, General Director of the Customs Department in Lorestan Hasan Hoseyni told media, Trend reports.

He pointed out that the goods were mostly brought in from Germany, the UAE, China, Switzerland, Afghanistan, Canada, and Italy.

Hoseyni noted that the province imported 952 tons of goods valued at $19.2 million in 6 months. Compared to the same period last year, the value of product imports rose by 56 percent, while the weight increased by 51 percent.

Additionally, Iran imported non-oil products valued at $32.6 billion during this timeframe.

In general, Iran prioritizes the import of essential products for the country and imposes certain limitations on the import of goods that are domestically produced.
