BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 18. The basis for issuing green bonds is being approved by the government of Azerbaijan, Governor of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan Taleh Kazimov said at the forum titled “Green finance and sustainable development” in Baku today, Trend reports.
“Having studied international best practices in the field of green bonds, a legal framework has been developed to ensure compliance with globally accepted standards and principles. The draft has already been submitted to the government,” he explained.
To note, the Baku Stock Exchange (BSE) has previously indicated its willingness to support the issuance of green bonds on its platform.
Currently, around three Azerbaijani companies are preparing to launch green bond offerings.
