ASTANA, Kazakhstan, October 22. Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan have set an ambitious goal to increase their bilateral trade turnover to $10 billion in the medium term, Trend reports.

This target was emphasized during the trade and economic mission at the Interregional Cooperation Forum held in Samarkand, which featured 70 exporters from Kazakhstan.

Arman Shakkaliyev, Kazakhstan's Minister of Trade and Integration, delivered a significant address at the forum.

"Chaired by the prime ministers, this forum is a practical step toward achieving our objectives. We attach great importance to interregional cooperation. During the event, our regions signed agreements with their counterparts in Uzbekistan. Additionally, my counterpart and I signed a Plan of Practical Actions aimed at enhancing our trade turnover. All these efforts are designed to ensure that our relationship becomes a driving force for advancing the regional economy as a whole," stated Shakkaliyev.

On October 22, a meeting took place between the Prime Ministers of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan to discuss various topics, including the development of trade and economic cooperation.
