Iran's Bileh Savar border terminal sees jump in product exports

BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 28. The export of non-oil products from the Bileh Savar border terminal in Ardabil province in northwestern Iran increased by 50 percent in the first seven months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through October 21, 2024) compared to the same period last year (from March 21 through October 22, 2023), the Director General of the Road and Transportation Department of Iran's Ardabil Province, Kalimollah Vosughi said, Trend reports.

He reported that the Bileh Savar border terminal exported over 443,000 tons of non-oil products in the past seven months. This figure was about 295,000 tons during the same period last year.

Vosughi noted that the Bilasuvar border terminal primarily handled the export of ceramics, glass, potatoes, building materials, salt, etc.

The official reported that the Bileh Savar border terminal handled the import of 21,000 tons of products during the reporting period. Imports of products increased by 41 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.

Vosughi reported that during the seven months, the Bileh-Savar border terminal handled about 672,000 tons of goods.

To note, Iran's Bileh Savar border terminal is located on the border with Azerbaijan.
