Azerbaijan, Baku, 1 February / corr. Trend I. Khalilova/ The post of the head of the Economic and Money-and-credit Policy Department of the Azerbaijani Cabinet of Ministers which was left vacant for six months was taken up by Shahin Sadikov, the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers said on 1 February. Ogtay Hagverdiyev was the former head of the Department.
Until his appointment to the new post Sadikov has been the head of the Economic Development Policy and Forecasting Department of the Ministry of Economic Development of Azerbaijan since 2001. His service record includes the post of pro-rector in the State Economy University of Azerbaijan, the consultant to the minister of finance and head of the Treasury Department for the Central Bodies in the Ministry of Finance.
Sadikov has graduated to the Baku State University and received a post-graduate course in Moscow State University. He is a doctor of economic sciences and is married with two children.
