New Caucasus Tea Brand to be Discussed in Baku

Georgia, Tbilisi, 5 July / corr. Trend N.Kirtzkhalia / The establishment of the Caucasus Tea brand will be discussed at the international tea congress to be held in Baku on 11 to13 July. Tengiz Svanidze, the director of the Georgian Tea Association, said that producers and distributors from Georgia, Azerbaijan, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan would participate in this meeting

The forum will focus on discussion of issues on development of tea growing in Caucasus.

Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Germany and the United States are importers of the Georgian tea. The Georgian-Tajik Joint Venture (JV), exporting 300 tons of tea to Tajikistan, was established in 2008. A total of 4,000-5,000 tons of tea is exported from Georgia.

Svanidze said that creation of the Caucasus tea brand was difficult task.
