The Azerbaijan Transport Ministry will receive 200 new buses from the Korean company Daewoo in summer, head of the Transport Ministry press service Namik Hasanov said.
"New large buses Daewoo will be brought to the country in the near future, in June and July," Hasanov said.
According to Hasanov, more than 700 units of buses of medium and large capacity are used.
"But there is still a need to acquire additional 500-600 new buses," Hasanov said.
The introduction of large buses into the transport system associated with the introduction of the prohibition by the Transport Ministry on traffic of small capacity buses in central streets of Baku. Small capacity buses can be used on secondary routes and highways. The traffic of buses on outskirts of the city and outside of central streets of Baku still allowed.
