On May 26, the Azerbaijani Parliament ratified the draft of changes and amendments to the Code on Administrative Violations intensifying responsibility for violation of customs rules namely the import of counterfeit and low-quality goods.
Under the changes, the sum of fines for incorrect declaration i.e. information about imported through the customs border of the Azerbaijan Republic goods and vehicles and to place them on the required customs regime increased from three to seven times. The sum of fines for individuals increased from 5-10 to 20-50 manats, officials - from 10-30 to 70-100 manats and for legal entities - from 50-100 to 150-250 manats.
The sum of fine for violation of check-point zones, including illegal import of goods through check points increased from 5-10 to 20-50 manats for individuals, from 15-35 to 100-200 manats for officials and from 50-110 to 250-500 manats for legal entities.
The sum of fines for presenting of documents of customs control late increased from 2-10 to 20-50 manats for individuals, from 10-40 to 70-100 manats for officials and from 30-100 to 250-500 manats for legal entities. The sum of fine for lost documents defined is 70-100 manats.
The sum of fine for violation of customs rules while crossing border is 20-50 manats (5-10 manats before), 75-150 manats for officials (10-50 manats) and 250-500 manats for legal entities (30-100 manats). For violation of the borders by ships and other floating means penalties increased from 5-25 to 50-100 manats for individuals, from 10-50 and 75-150 manats for officials and from 50-100 to 250-500 manats for legal entities. Inobservance of customs orders envisages fines in the amount of from 5-7 to 20-50 manats, 10-50 to 75-150 manats, from 30-100 to 250-500 manats respectively.
The sum of fine for violation the rules of production and other commercial activity in free customs zones is 50-100 manats (5-20 manats before), 100-250 manats (20-50 manats) and 250-500 manats(50-100 manats) respectively. The import of goods without marking will be fined 150-250 manats (35-40 manats), 300-500 manats (80-90 manats) and 1,000-3,000 manats (200-300 manats) respectively.
The illegal activity of customs brokers or violation of order is fined in the amount of 350-500 manats and customs carrier - 300-500 manats.
The sum of fine for non-fulfillment of customs requirements by officials and other employees of enterprises and organizations increased from 10-50 to 75-150 manats.
