The Azerbaijani State Committee for Standardization, Metrology and Patents applied to all corresponding state departments to strengthen control over import of Chinese children's toys dangerous for health, the committee said on July 8.
Source said that the committee sent warnings to all entrepreneurs importing Chinese toys in Azerbaijan.
The committee announced results of monitoring on quality of children's toys, cloth and food last week. Monitoring was held in Sabail, Nasimi and Karadag regions of Baku. Employees of the committee took samples of Chinese toys checked in laboratory under the committee.
According to results of analyses, heavy metals were found in toys. Smell of toys is over norm. Color is unstable. Sutures of toys are not firm. All these indices are dangerous for human being.
Owners of enterprises were told to withdraw dangerous toys.
Employees of the committee held repeated monitoring at these counters. It was revealed that entrepreneurs despite grave warnings continue to sell goods dangerous for children, the committee said.
"Acts were drawn up towards these entrepreneurs. It was made a decision about withdrawing and mass liquidation of these goods," the committee said.
