Yemen and France on Saturday signed here two cooperation accords on funding small enterprise and development projects, official Saba news agency said.
Under the first agreement, France's Social Fund for Development (SFD) provides Yemen 700,000 euros (about one million U.S. dollars) for funding development projects to empower Yemeni woman and improve their social status, Xinhua reported.
In the 2nd agreement, France's SFD is to allocate an amount of 35,000,000 Yemeni rials (about 170,000 U.S. dollars), a part of this sum would be provided by the Yemeni government, to help develop agricultural research.
The SFD, according to Saba, had allotted one million euros to finance 18 small development projects and 90 non-governmental organizations in Yemen.
The agreements aim at boosting the role of the agricultural training and technical institutes in all Yemeni governorates, and developing research on combating Dubas bugs which affect palms in Hadhramout province.
