Azerbaijan is exhibiting its tourism potential at an international tourism exhibition in London, the Azerbaijani Culture and Tourism Ministry said today.
Ministry representatives and the tourism companies Improtex Travel, AL Travel, GEO Travel, ENC Tour and Baku Tourist Center attended the event.
Promotional materials will be given to guests at the exhibition to promote the country.
The exhibition is being held from Nov. 9 to Nov.12.
According to the State Statistics Committee, about 115 travel agencies operated in Azerbaijan in the first half of 2009. Some 98.3 percent were private and employed 1,361 people.
In January-June, revenues for tourism companies increased one percent to 8 million manat compared to the same period in 2008.
