Black ink in foreign trade operations of Azerbaijan exceeds $6bn in Jan.-Oct.

In January to October 2009, Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover with 136 countries comprised $16.517 billion, State Customs Committee reported. The black ink of import-export operations amounted to $6.6 billion.

In total, 8,340 legal entities (3,850) and physical entities (4,484) participated in the foreign trade operations.

The amount of export decreased by 74.86 percent as compared to last year and comprised $11.56 billion. The share of public sector in exports totaled $10.78 billion (93.33 percent), private - $673.06 million (5.82 percent), individuals - $0.98 million (0.85 percent).

Over 10 months, imports declined by 16 percent and totaled $4.95 billion. The share of public sector in import operations amounted to $1.59 billion (32.13 percent), the private sector - $3.12 billion (63.03 percent), individuals - $239.83 million (4.84 percent).

Azerbaijan exported 1,990 types of goods and imported 5,600.
