Georgian commercial banks' assets exceed 8 billion lari

The total assets of the Georgian commercial banks as of April 1, increased by 54.5 million lari, or 0.6 percent up to 8,473 million lari compared to the previous month.

Based on the data of the National Bank of Georgia, the banking sector's own funds amounted to 1,549,500,000 lari, or 18.3 percent of all assets of the banks.

During the report period, the participation of foreign capital in the paid-up authorized capital of banks is 78.4 percent.

In March, the profit of the banking sector amounted to 17 million lari.

In March, the share of five banks with major assets in total banking assets increased by 0.3 percent to 78.8 percent.

As of April 1, the Georgian banking sector is represented by 19 commercial banks, including 13 - with the participation of foreign capital in the authorized capital and the two branches of foreign banks.
