Tashkent will host the Shanghai Cooperation Organization's (SCO) Foreign Ministerial Council's meeting on Saturday.
The meeting that will be held under Uzbekistan's chairmanship will focus on issues of preparation of the upcoming SCO member states' heads' council scheduled for June in Tashkent.
Moreover, the foreign ministers will consider the project on final declaration, as well as other documents and decisions of the summit. The document will reflect the approaches of the SCO to pressing international issues, including overcoming the consequences of the global financial crisis and reforms the international monetary and financial system
The foreign ministers will discuss topical regional and global issues, as well as further deepening of the interaction of the SCO member states in the international affairs.
The agenda of the meeting also included the full range of issues related to the situation in Afghanistan and the draft provisions on the admission of new members.
Uzbekistan took the chairmanship in the SCO in June 2009, after the SCO summit in Yekaterinburg.
The Shanghai Cooperation Organization was established in 2001 in Shanghai. Its members are Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan.
