Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree approving the authorized bodies for the implementation of the Housing Code of Azerbaijan.
According to the presidential decree, the Azerbaijani Cabinet of Ministers was approved the authorized body to implement the Code.
The Azerbaijani State Committee on Property got powers in connection with the transition of non-residential area into a residential one.
In case of transfer of housing to refugees and internally displaced people, the State Committee on refugees and internally displaced people was determined the authorized agency.
The Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Ministry for Emergency Preparedness, Office of the State Historical-Architectural Reserve "Icherisher" under the Azerbaijani Cabinet of Ministers are determined authorized agencies to transfer residential assets in certain cases.
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree on the ratification, entry into force of the Housing Code, as well as issues of legal regulation September 1, 2009. The Housing Code consists of 145 articles that claim the basis of housing rights, the duties of the state in housing relations, the rights of municipalities, the types of residential areas, rules of living area.
The Code reflects the rules and basis of the contract in case of social rent, types of special purpose, the definition of residential space for dormitories, the definition of housing for social services to the population, the definition of temporary housing for refugees and internally displaced people.
