Azer Aliyev, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Azerbaijani Insurers' Association (AIA), was appointed the AIA executive director.
The AIA Founders' Assembly made such a decision, Aliyev told Trend.
The issue of appointing a new chairman of the Supervisory Board will be reviewed next week, he added.
The AIA Supervisory Board includes five insurance companies - International Insurance Company, Azersıgorta, Ateshgah, Standard Insurance and AXA MBASK.
Aliyev replaced Gafar Majidov in this post.
Earlier Majidov told Trend that he was nominated for the post of chairman of the new life insurance company to be opened by Ata Sıgorta. He has successfully passed the examination for a managerial position held by the State Insurance Supervision Service under the Azerbaijani Finance Ministry.
The association was founded on December 29, 2006. It consists of 28 members. It aims to assist the development of insurance companies, as well as re-insurance companies operating in Azerbaijan, the development of their socio-economic, informational and other programs that enhance their knowledge in these areas.
There are 28 insurance and 1 reinsurance companies in Azerbaijan.
