Uzbekistan Airways (Uzbekiston Havo Yullari) increased its passenger transportation by 9.2 percent to 1.62 million people in the first half-year compared to the same period of 2010, the Airways reported.
Including, passenger transportation to the CIS countries increased by 15.4 percent, far abroad countries - 2.9 percent, on domestic airlines - 6.5 percent.
Uzbekistan Airways carried out 11,929 flights in January-June, which is 301 flights more than the first half-year of 2010. Cargo transportation volume increased by 6.7 percent in the first half-year given paid luggage - up to 24,000 tons.
"Uzbekistan Airways" is the monopoly carrier in Uzbekistan. It is fully owned by the state.
The fleet includes 26 western aircrafts, including 10 Boeing (five Boeing 767-300 and five Boeing 757-200), three Airbus A310, eight Airbus A320-200, three medium-RJ-85, and two cargo A300 -600F.
The Uzbek national airline Uzbekistan Airways increased the transportation of passengers by 14.3 percent up to 2.16 million passengers in 2010 compared to 2009. The passenger transportation to the CIS countries increased by more than 11 percent. It also increased by 17 percent to the foreign countries. A 18-pertcent increase was observed on domestic airlines. Volume of cargo transportation increased by 63 percent. In total about 50,000 tons of cargo were transported by the Uzbekistan Airways in 2009.
Uzbekistan Airways carries out flights to 21 cities of countries of Europe, America, Middle East, Asia, 22 cities of the CIS countries and on 11 directions on domestic airlines.
