Iran takes first place in Asia for methanol production and second place as Europe's major metanol exporter, Managing Director of the Iranian National Petrochemical Company Abdul-Hossein Bayat said today, reported IRIB.
"Iran's petrochemical production hits 13.9 million tons during the first four months of this solar year (beginning March 21, 2010)," he said.
Bayati noted that Iran has sold 9 billion tons of petrochemicals during this period worth $6.7 billion.
