In January-June, the service sector gained the main share in the GDP of Uzbekistan, making up 48.3 percent as compared to 47.1 percent last year, the State Statistics Committee of the Republic reported on Wednesday.
During the first half year, the goods production fell to 39.8 percent from 40.3 percent in the same period of the last year, net taxes on products and import-export operations to 11.9 percent from 12.6 percent.
Uzbekistan's gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 8.0 percent in January-June 2011 in year-on-year terms compared to same period of last year.
The industrial output expanded by 6.8 percent in the first half of 2011, year-on-year, while agricultural production grown by 6.7 percent. Construction output rose by 3.5 percent, consumer goods - 12.3 percent, paid services - 14 percent, retail trade - 14.6 percent.
