In January-June, about 26,200 cars were imported to Azerbaijan. It is 14.7 percent more than the same period of last year, the State Statistics Committee said.
According to the State Statistics Committee, the total value of imported cars amounted to about $260.8 million, or 38.7 percent more than in January-June of 2010.
Some 2,366 trucks were imported to Azerbaijan in Jan.-June, or 0.8 percent less than in January-June last year. The total value of imported cars totaled $45.1 million or 20.3 percent less than last year.
The country imported 261 buses in Jan.-June, or 42.4 percent less than in January-June last year. Buses worth $11.33 million were imported in January-June, or 52.3 percent less than the same period of last year.
About 418 trucks were produced in Azerbaijan in January-July, or 2.5 percent more than in January-July last year. During this period, about 238 cars were produced, or 10.2 percent less than the same period of last year.
