According to the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee, vehicles transported about 35.169 million tons of cargo in January-July or 12.9 percent more than in 2010, the committee said.
Exports of goods in this period amounted to 20.97 million tons, imports - 5 million tons.
Roughly 183,540 tons of cargo was transported by sea, 1,898 tons by railway, 299,75 tons by cars and 394,060 tons by air in the first quarter. The transportation by stationary vehicles totaled 18.19 million tons.
Roughly 749,900 tons were imported by sea, 3.211 million tons by railway, 1 million tons by cars and 11,640 tons by air.
Roughly 9.2million tons of cargo was transported by transit through Azerbaijan in January-July 2011.
