Azerbaijan’s foreign trade increases by 30 percent in 2011

Azerbaijani State Customs Committee (SCC) announced result of foreign trade operations with 149 countries in 2011, the State Committee told Trend on Saturday.

The country's total trade turnover amounted to $36.327 billion, or 29.92 per cent more compared to 2010.

Black ink worth $16.815 billion was formed in foreign-trade operations.

During this period 8,450 legal and physical entities were involved in the foreign-trade operations, 3,843 of them were legal entities, while 4,697 physical entities.

Export operations amounted to $26.571 billion in 2011 or 24.39 per cent more compared to 2010.

Share of public sector in export amounted to $25.251 billion (95.03 percent), private sector - $1.127 billion (4.24 percent), share of physical entities - $0.193 billion (0.73 percent).

Import hit $9.756 billion in 2011 or 47.81 percent more compared to 2010.

Share of public sector in import operations amounted to $3.404 billion (34.89 percent), private sector - $5.901 billion (60.49 percent), physical entities - $0.451 billion (4.62 percent).

Azerbaijan exported 2,082 types of commodities and imported 6,233 types in 2011.
